The Daingerfield Tiger 400-meter relay team of Ashton Williams, J’akyin Craver, Kenny Mosley and Isaiah Willbarger finished sixth at the UIL State Track & Field Championships held in Austin last week with a time of 41.88.
The Daingerfield Tiger varsity baseball team was no match for Liberty-Eylau in the first round of the UIL Class 3A, Division 1 playoffs as the Leopards captured an 11-2 victory on Friday night in Pleasant Grove and then a 7-2 win on Saturday afternoon. The loss ends Coach Jermaine Mitchell’s Tigers season at 16-9 while Liberty-Eylau improves to 27-4 on the year and into the area round this week.
The Daingerfield Tigers are set to begin their run in the UIL Class 3A, Division 1 state baseball playoffs this Friday, May 2 in Pleasant Grove as they begin a best-of-three bi-district series against Liberty-Eylau. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. Game 2 will take place on Saturday at noon and if necessary, Game 3 just 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 2.

The Daingerfield Tigers swept Jefferson last week to clinch third place in District 13-3A and will open up the playoffs against state-ranked Liberty-Eylau at a site and date to be determined. Coach Jermaine Mitchell’s Tigers finish league play at 6-4 and are 15-7 overall.
