The Pewitt Brahmas earned a Bi-District win over Harmony Nov. 13 to advance in the 3 UIL State Football Playoffs. As they have done often throughout the season, Pewitt used a last-minute drive and touchdown to seal the deal and propel the Brahmas in the contest over the Harmony Eagles, 30-27.
The Hughes Springs Mustangs held off comeback attempt by the Anderson-Shiro Owls during Bi-District play Nov. 13. The Mustangs emerged victorious, 34-26, behind strong performances by Tyson Daigle and Trevor Bolden.
The Daingerfield Tigers made history Nov. 12 when they faced the Grand Saline Indians in the Bi-District round of the UIL State Football Playoffs. The Tigers’ 53- 21 win over the Indians came in 1,000 game in Daingerfield Tiger football history. The win also marked the 93 playoff win in team history, and 624 win overall.
The Daingerfield Tigers will play the Grand Saline Indians in Ore City Nov. 12 for the first round of the UIL State Football Playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the Tigers will be the visiting team.
The Pewitt Brahmas began the season looking to for a return trip to the state football championship. After defeating Redwater 44-6 on Nov. 6, the Brahmas have ensured their trip to the playoffs as the District 10-3A third seed, thanks to a three-way tie atop the district.
